SPREAD THE WORD | |||||
Our mission is to bridge science and resources to advance the health of animals. Morris Animal Foundation improves and protects the health of animals through scientific innovation, education and inspiration. Founded by a veterinarian in 1948, we continue to be a science-driven organization, funding critical health studies for the benefit of all animals.
THE BEST WAY TO RAISE SUPPORT IS TO ASK. Email, social media, flyers, neighborhood discussion forums (e.g. NextDoor), water cooler chats — it doesn’t matter how, it just matters that you do.
ASK DIRECTLY AND FREQUENTLY. Whether you send personal emails, letters, send a text or pick up the phone, one-on-one interactions are more likely to yield results. Don’t be afraid to ask again. People are busy, get distracted or forget.
SOCIAL MEDIA IS A GREAT WAY TO REACH THE MASSES. Share your fundraising progress with your friends and family through your favorite social media platforms. Follow and share Morris Animal Foundation’s social pages to find inspiration and update your supporters on the exciting advancements happening in animal health.
|
|||||
CREATE A PLAN FOR HOW YOU COMMUNICATE. Start by emailing five to 10 of your closest friends and family members the first week, then emailing five to 10 more the next week and the week after that. Keep your network updated with progress reports every week or two. Create a sense of urgency in your communication as your deadline approaches.
ASK YOUR NETWORK TO FORWARD OR SHARE YOUR FUNDRAISER. Maybe your friends or family members cannot donate at this time. Ask them to forward your email or share your post to their other friends or family members. Sharing your cause can be just as helpful in spreading the word.
USE OUR TEMPLATES TO GET STARTED. Access our email and social media templates to get started asking for support. Copy and paste the email or social media messages into your own email or social media platforms, personalize with your own flare and information, and send to your friends and family. |
SAY THANK YOU |
Just like we appreciate you, as a fundraiser you can never express too much gratitude to your supporters. Once you see a gift, make sure to thank that person either through your fundraising page or personally. |
