My sweet baby, Jackson Andrew, peacefully crossed the Rainbow Bridge on December 30, 2023. Jackson was diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy in July 2023 and experienced complete paralysis in his hind legs by October 2023. In December, the very difficult decision was made to have Jackson euthanized as his condition had begun to worsen, and we did not want him to suffer. He would have been 13 on July 11, 2024.

DM is a terrible, heartbreaking disease, and very little is known about what causes it. There is currently no cure, and treatments to slow the progression of the disease are not guaranteed.
