Bolt lived a long, happy life for a golden, but it was still too short for his family that loved him dearly. On Oct 10, 2025, Bolt woke up lethargic and was rushed to the ER only to be diagnosed with the sinister disease -- Hemangiosarcoma. The diagnosis while unexpected and eerie, is sadly not uncommon for many of our sweet babies. Despite ongoing research, there is no early diagnosis nor treatment that can prolong the lives of afflicted dogs longer than a few weeks or months.

Morris Animal Foundation is a nonprofit organization that funds science to advance the health of animals around the world. Since its founding in 1948, the Foundation has invested over $149 million in more than 2,940 studies that have led to significant breakthroughs in diagnostics, treatments and preventions to benefit animals worldwide.
